Rated 5 out of 5 by kpme from Will be great once it is repaired... We love this oven/microwave combo however, the ceramic element latch broke on the microwave and warranty is currently advising that the part is not in stock and will take 6-8 months to be replaced so we will not be able to use for the majority of the year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Riley01 from Great update I bought this wall oven combo about two months ago and I am still pleased with my purchase. Installation was simple, and it is a step up from our previous unit and much quieter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bill in Vancouver from Great replacement for our 20 year old KitchenAid We got our new KitchenAid combination wall oven installed on Christmas Eve as a replacement for our 20 year old KitchenAid wall oven and were are so pleased with it. Having the flexibility to use the upper microwave as a convection oven is a great asset that we were not even aware of when we purchased it. The quality of the workmanship is excellent and the appearance is as good as the performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Alan 2023 from Vastly improved design and operational features. We bought this unit to replace a 14 year old similar kitchen aid unit. We can readily compare the new unit with the similar old unit and readily identify the design upgrades and new features. The performance of the new unit is much improved with the convection and the programming and controls

30" Combination Wall Oven with Even-Heat™ True Convection (Lower Oven) Stainless Steel KOCE500ESS | KitchenAid (2024)

FAQs

Is convection wall oven worth it? ›

Convection ovens provide faster and more uniform cooking, often at slightly lower temperatures. This reduces cooking times by around 25% compared to a conventional oven.

What is the difference between GE convection and true convection ovens? ›

The only difference between convection vs. true convection is that true convection ovens have an extra heating element next to the fan. This provides better circulation for a more even cooking experience. Standard convection ovens will only have a fan, which circulates heat produced by conventional burners.

Why are in wall ovens so expensive? ›

Cost is essential when choosing between a range and a wall oven. Generally, you can expect wall ovens to be the more expensive version. This is because of installation requirements and their advanced features. A double wall oven will cost you even more, usually because of the temperature-adjusting features.

What is the difference between a convection oven and a wall oven? ›

The difference is the time and energy it takes when using one or the other. A convection oven circulates heat using a fan so it is more energy-efficient. It cooks food faster and more evenly. Conventional ovens do not have a fan, so that heat source at the top and bottom can only radiate up or down to cook food.

What is the disadvantage of a convection oven? ›

1. Expensive: Convection ovens can be more expensive than conventional ovens due to their additional technology. 2. Not as user-friendly: Cooking with a convection oven may require adjusting recipes and cooking times due to the oven's faster cooking times and lower temperature settings.

Is a true convection oven worth it? ›

With True convection, your dishes not only cook more evenly when using multiple racks, but may even cook faster. 1 Since True convection ovens have the potential to cook faster, they may require both time and temperature adjustments if you're using a recipe written for a conventional oven.

What is the disadvantage of a wall oven? ›

Wall Oven Cons

This limits your counter space, and if you're working with a small area, a wall oven won't be maximizing your space. Think about whether you'd rather focus your design and style elements in a prominent stovetop or in a sleek wall oven.

What is a good brand for wall oven? ›

What is the best wall oven to buy? The best wall oven to buy depends on your specific needs and budget, but models from well-known brands like Bosch, GE, and KitchenAid are renowned for their reliability, range of features, and overall quality.

What is the life expectancy of a wall oven? ›

A wall oven or range typically lasts about 16 years if it's properly maintained. Even though oven lifespan varies, you may reasonably expect that your oven will work for more than a decade—even two decades on the higher end of the spectrum.

Do chefs like convection ovens? ›

Professional chefs swear by the advantages of convection ovens. That's because it cooks food slightly differently.

Should you bake pizza on convection? ›

The Convection Roast, Convection Bake, or Turbo mode, if your oven features one, are the best choices for baking pizza. In these modes, the direct heat from the bottom heating element will thoroughly heat the stone or steel, while the circulating heat ensures even cooking.

Is an air fryer the same as a convection oven? ›

Air fryers are essentially mini convection ovens, but with some key differences. While they both use a fan to circulate hot air, the smaller size of the air fryer allows it to heat up faster and cook food quicker than a full-sized oven.

Do you really need a convection oven? ›

Overall, the convection oven setting is a great choice if you want a crisp, quick, product, but if you want your dish to maintain moisture or rise before it is finished baking, then stick with the conventional oven.

Why do bakers not like using convection ovens for everything? ›

Not Ideal for Certain Baked Goods – A major complaint that many people who use convection have is that their cakes and breads don't rise in the convection oven the way that they do in a traditional oven.

Do professional chefs use convection ovens? ›

Professional chefs swear by the advantages of convection ovens. That's because it cooks food slightly differently.

Do convection wall ovens need to be vented? ›

Answer: Wolf Wall Ovens, Speed Ovens, and Convection Steam Ovens do not require ventilation. Exhaust or heat discharge comes out from the bottom front of the unit. Exhaust does not flow out from the entire vent; rather, only half of the vent is used for exhaust while the other half is cosmetic.
